What is Uplift Housing
Uplift Housing is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to making homes affordable forever across New Brunswick, addressing the urgent need for permanently affordable housing and ensuring every New Brunswicker has access to a safe, sustainable, and quality place to call home—today and for generations to come.
Housing affordability is a province-wide challenge, and we’re proud to join the collective effort to meet it. Uplift offers a long-term, scalable solution: acquiring and preserving quality multifamily properties and maintaining affordability across at least 75% of units. By combining institutional-grade asset management with a community-first mindset, we help ensure affordable housing remains viable, high-quality, and available well into the future.

Uplift is driven by a mission to create lasting homes through institutional-grade management and community-first values. We believe that safe, enduring, and affordable housing is the foundation of thriving communities. Through responsible stewardship, innovative partnerships, and an unwavering commitment to affordability, we are building sustainable housing solutions that empower individuals, strengthen neighborhoods, and drive positive change for generations to come.
By 2029, Uplift aims to manage a minimum of 1,000 permanently affordable housing units, while establishing the capacity to add 300+ new units per year. Our commitment to growth will position us to effectively address the ongoing shortage of affordable living solutions in the province.
How Uplift Works
We partner with experienced Property Investment and Management Companies (PIMCs) to acquire and steward multifamily properties across New Brunswick. Every building we acquire is carefully selected based on its long-term viability and its potential to offer or transition to affordable rents.
Our approach is twofold:
Ownership with purpose – Uplift owns all buildings under management, allowing us to preserve affordability for the long term.
Institutional-grade operations – We pair professional real estate systems with a deep commitment to community well-being, ensuring that every home is safe, dignified, and financially sustainable.
We work hand-in-hand with trusted PIMCs, local communities, and public partners to ensure that every property serves not just as housing, but as a foundation for thriving lives.
Who We Are
Our Board brings together expertise in real estate, public policy, nonprofit governance, and community development. Meeting six times a year, the Board guides our strategic priorities and ensures transparency and accountability at every level.
